Are You Kidding Me?

First let me say, SO sorry for the horrific picture. So Thursday was one of those days that I was hoping I would never have to have. Blake had gotten up early and noticed that we had a 12" x 12" bubble in our family room ceiling. He poked the ceiling and it just crumbled. About 2 months prior we noticed our bathroom flooring was beginning to bubble. We had had a huge clog in our toilet, either from Deilen's GIANT poops, or one of many things Gerrit has flushed down the toilet. I tried for over 30 minutes with the master plunger to unplug it and finally it went. We were thinking it had something to do with that. Then I noticed a little bit of black starting up our vanity. Well our worst nightmares were confirmed when Blake noticed the bubble. It was coming directly beneath our toilet in our hall bathroom. Today Blake stayed home from work to assess the damages. He ripped up our flooring and the sub floor was completely damaged and this picture is of the actual plywood floor. It is black, from mold and will need to be cut out. Blake had the idea to call our homeowners insurance and I got so excited. However, once I finally talked to them about 5pm tonight they told me that since there is mold that the leak has been there awhile and our insurance will not cover it. WHAT? How the heck were we suppose to know it has been there a while if it is under the floor. She told me that she would send an insurance adjuster out to take a look at it, but it wouldn't be until next week and not to touch it in the meantime. Oh, great! I am ticked, but Blake keeps saying lets wait until the adjuster sees it and tells us what they think at that time. It will be quite the repair job with a completely new floor, vanity, mold treatment, a partial new ceiling in our family room, and whatever else. I just hope we won't have to take our bathtub out. I am really afraid of the time and cost this is going to do. Now we only have one bathroom that is in our bedroom, which has been a lot of fun. Even though it has only been 1 day. How do families do it? Hopefully it will get fixed soon so that our company and the kid's friends won't have to keep going through our bedroom to use the bathroom.
