On Friday I was at Wal-mart picking up so stuff for Blake for a Scout service project on Saturday morning. He called me and could barely talk and told me that he had an accident and that I needed to take him to the emergency room. He was eating tuna fish out of the can and got some stuck in his throat. He took a big drink of water and tried to force it down and heard a tear. He began spewing out blood. His boss took him to the doctor and they told him there was nothing they could do that he needed to go to the ER. Since the meat was still stuck, he couldn't swallow his saliva and had to spit it out. However, the saliva was just watered down blood. I freaked out and called my mother-in-law, who luckily was home and willing to leave right then to come over to my house with my kids. Blake drove himself home and when I got home I ran to pull Kaymin out of school early to watch the kids until Carla got there. However, when I got home, he had just thrown up and was able to get the meat dislodged. He was still bleeding so we decided it was best to take him in. Lucky for us, Carla came right before we left. He chest was hurting really bad beginning in the middle of his chest and hurt to his stomach. They made him drink some liquid and then took x-rays to make sure the dye stayed in the esophagus and didn't leak out. Luckily it didn't. They called it a Malory Weiss tear in the esophagus and he had have a liquid diet for 24 hours and avoid eating spicy foods until he felt better. They gave him some numbing liquid and told him take Maalox, since it had given him reflux. Had it torn all of the way through, they would have had to cut open his chest as they would do for open heart surgery to repair it. Wow, was he lucky. After 4 hours, we were able to go home. I was so stressed even though I just sat there that when I got home I ate chocolate licorice. I know it wasn't part of the diet, but I didn't really care. I am just so glad he was okay.

That's so scary and awful. I'm glad he's okay though.
I hate er visits. Chocolate anything doesn't count if it's eaten after an emergency
