As of today, my sister, Jen, has been in the hospital for 6 weeks. I went to visit her on Saturday and it couldn't have been better timing. I arrived around 4:30pm and she had started having pinkish discharge (some blood and some amniotic fluid). She told me the disappointing news and began painting her daughter's finger and toenails. Just then she dumped the bottle of fingernail polish all over the floor and Andy (her husband) and I began cleaning it up. We had to move her bed so she decided to go to the bathroom while we cleaned it up. However, we needed some fingernail polish remover so we called the nurses. Just then, my sister began yelling for her husband and the nurses came in and they went in the bathroom too. She was bleeding and had filled a pad. They hurry and put her on the baby monitor and the baby's heartbeat looked good and she began having contractions. So they had her fill out her papers and they took her to Labor and Delivery. Violet, their daughter came home with me. This is the second time I've been in the right place at the right time. I planned to keep her overnight so the kids got all excited for a sleepover. Violet was in heaven to stay and play with her cousins.

She stayed in Labor and Delivery so she could be watched on the monitor 24 hours a day. Today, my sister's bleeding and contractions (Braxton Hicks) has stopped. Apparently it was caused by a ruptured membrane and she was able to go back to her room still pregnant. She is SO grateful. As of Sunday she is finally 30 weeks along. She has lasted longer than all of the "undelivers", as the call it. She has truly been blessed and we are SO excited for her. Now the big thing will be, once Ruth is born, will she have any brain damage? That is the biggest question on everyone's mind.

I have been catching up today on all your adventures. never a dull moment at your house! I am glad Jenny is doing alright...30 weeks is pretty good. Gerrit makes me laugh. What a monkey! Does he climb on the monkey bars, or just bunk beds. Good luck with your "criminal" daughter! :)
