Well at 11pm the night before Kameni started in on her ear hurting. I knew it was coming because she got a cold and that is what ALWAYS happens when she gets a cold. She hardly slept last night (either did I for the record) and she finally fell asleep with her eyes half open. I've never seen her do this before so I had to take a picture. I took her in yesterday and she has a double ear infection and one of them already started oozing when we got there, which means her ear drum burst. I think she is so used to having ear infections that they don't seem to bother her until they are horrible. The last two times they have burst before I have taken her in. I know they told me last time if she got another ear infection they would recommend tubes again for the 3rd time, but I told the doctor yesterday that her tubes seem to fall out after 8 months and I would rather get them done in the fall and go all winter with them, than the summer. He agreed with me so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Our pediatrician wasn't available so we saw another one that was African American. After he left the room, Kameni said, "that blue man hurt me!" I am hoping one day she will grow out of them, and I would love it if it happened before we had to have another surgery. Blake and I were hoping that this would be the year without any surgeries. For the past 4 years, we have had surgeries and we were hoping this was our year without. I just finished doing our taxes and we spent over $9,000 out-of-pocket last year on medical and dental stuff. I just want a break for year. Is that too much to ask?

Oh poor girl. Since I had that ear infection last month, I totally empathize with kids when they get them. I forgot how painful they are. Good luck!!
That would be awful. I have tons of scar tissue in my ears from infections as a kid, but never this bad. I never had to have tubes.
I keep trying to comment about Brody's wife and baby, but it won't let me. How scary! I hope everything is OK.
